ARIS BSA is thrilled to announce the agreement with Panagiotis Giannakis. The 58-year-old coach signed a one-year contract with our team on Friday (07/07).

Panagiotis Giannakis is a living legend of ARIS and after 24 years he returns to the team with which he wrote many of the golden pages of Greek basketball. His arrival from Ionicos Nicaea in 1984 marked the beginning of ARIS' Empire. The "Dragon" and Nick Galis composed one of the best duos in Europe for many years and with them as leaders, ARIS won a number of titles and made an undefeated run of 80 games, something unique for the Greek basketball.

Panagiotis Giannakis has won 14 titles with ARIS jersey: Seven Greek championships (consecutive), six Greek cups and a
European Cup. As an ARIS pleyer, he won the gold medal at the Eurobasket of 1987 with the National Team and the silver at the Eurobasket of 1989.

In addition to his brilliant career as an athlete, Panagiotis Giannakis was widely successful acclaimed as a coach. He led the Greek National Team in winning the 2005 Eurobasket Gold Medal and the 2006 Mundobasket's Silver Medal when his team became the last team to win the US National Team.
