One day ahead of the clash against DKV Joventut Badalona (Tuesday 02/03, 21:00) for Game 5 of the Eurocup “Last 16”, David Blatt told the Press the dos-and-don’ts of this very important match.
“We need to win. When you play twice each week, you don’t have a lot of time to get overtaken or overexcited after a win or loss. The defeat in Trikala hurt, but we’ll use that as motivation to do better next time”, Aris’s coach said, before analyzing the technical elements of the game against the Spanish side:
“Badalona is a very fast team. They really run the ball hard and fast. Transition in defense is very important for us. Also, defending the three-point shots is equally important. Offensively, we will try to create some early offenses and easy baskets as well. We will have to doa lot more of what we did against Alba Berlin. We must do well on the offensive rebounds and have a lot of effort, fight and aggression”.
Jeremy Richardson, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today, also spoke about the upcoming match. “It will be a tough game, against a pretty good team. We must be focused and ready to play hard and play smart, just as the coach asks from us each time. I’m sure the fans will be here and support us like they do every time we need them. With their help, we will go out and do whatever it takes to win”, the American forward said. Moreover, he commented that “the victory will be a great birthday present for me. I’m not going to do anything special to celebrate tonight, but if win and get to advance to the next round of the Eurocup, this will be a big present for my birthday”.
