Aris’s defeat at Trikala was due to the missed opportunities at several moments of the game and because of the bad decisions his team took in offense, David Blatt said after the game.

David Blatt (Aris coach): “Congratulations to Trikala and to the coach. We had several chances to win that game and we lost them. Trikala took the opportunity they had and won. We made poor decisions offensively, overshooting three-point shots. We shot too many three-pointers, regardless of the fact that many of these shots were open. When you give your opponent the opportunity to stay in the game, a lot of things can happen and in the end they won the game.

This was a totally different game than the one against Alba Berlin. We are not good enough to play based on our momentum, we have to fight in each game.

It would be better to win tonight, but a professional team must know how to handle any win and loss and that’s what we have to do now”.

Nikos Chatzivrettas (Aris player): “This was a very important game for us. However, once more, we didn’t show thee concentration and the character we had to. Things are getting difficult for us and from now on we must be 100% ready, because this team deserves to fulfill its goals. We must learn how to show the right attitude in away games, just as we do at home”.

This victory is dedicated to Savo Djiganovic, who was the true leader of this team. When you play against Aris, you can’t win them straight. You only can ‘steal’ the victory from them and for this to happen there must be a lot of coincidences, too”.
