The marvelous performance and 30-point win over DKV Joventut Badalona was something that Aris fans deserved, David Blatt said after the game. Sito Alonso, on the other hand, highlighted the fans’ attitude, which helped out the “yellows” a great deal.

David Blatt (Aris coach): “It was a great performance by our team and certainly very rewarding moment for us. The players responded in a great way after our defeat in Trikala for the Greek League. Regardless of the final score, we were playing against a very strong opponent. Up till now, that team had 8 wins and 2 losses in the Eurocup, one of the best records this season. We played well and as a true team in both ends of the court. Also, we got enormous support of our fans, in a typical Aris fans fashion. We rewarded them with a good show, they deserved it. I want to give all credit to my partners, Dimitris Priftis and Stefanos Dedas.They talked basketball to my players and I talked life to them. All I had to do was to speak to the heart and soul of the players”.

Sito Alonso (DKV Joventut coach): “Congratulations to Aris. They did one of their best games this season. On the other hand, within the last four days we did the worst games. I hope that we will win Alba in order to qualify to the next round. You never expect to lose by that much, but Aris has got a lot of high level players and a very good coach. I can’t understand how this team holds a low position in the Greek League standings. Also, it seems incredible to me that the fans of Aris supported their team in such a passionate way, despite of their bad loss three days ago. This attitude gave a lot of tranquility to the players of Aris”.
