David Blatt spoke to the Press about the game against Alba Berlin (Tuesday 23/02, 21:00), in which Aris will try to repeat the success they had in Germany two weeks ago.
“We had some injuries problems that we are working through and hopefully we will be 100% fit by tomorrow night. Aaron Miles will play tomorrow. As far as how long, that will depend on the game and his feeling, but I expect him to play a major role tomorrow” the American-Israeli coach said, before referring to the German team: “Alba is the kind of team that, when they play their basketball, they’re very effective and very good. We played them a very tough game two weeks ago. To a certain extent we were able to change some things that they did, but for the most part we played and won a game that was more or less their style of a game. Tomorrow we are going to try to take the initiative and play our kind of a game”.
Mr. Blatt commented on the arrival of newcomer Matt Walsh, too: “The team has suffered from a scoring standpoint and Matt Walsh is as good as scorer there is out there in the market. He’s got experience in high-level European competitions, he’s got experience in the Greek League, he’s a quality player that you all know”.
Ivan Paunic also spoke about the upcoming match: “This is a very important game. Alba is the leader of our group, a good team. We managed to win them in Berlin and tomorrow it will be a great opportunity for us to add another victory. If we make it, we will have very big chances to qualify to the next round. We are prepared for this game, we will fight to the maximum and I believe that we will win”.
