After a ten-day break from any official games, Aris returns to action on Sunday 11/04 (17:00), against G.S. Olympia Larissas, and David Blatt welcomed that.
“We’ve been through a period which has not been easy for us. We are waiting for this game, because the best way to come out of this situation is playing basketball -and hopefully, playing good. Our team worked hard these days and has made a lot of progress. I’m waiting from the players to show in the game what they have been showing in the practice all this week”, the American-Israeli coach told the Press and he added:
“It’s important for us to win all four remaining games. It’s true that we also depend on other teams’ results in order to get the 6th place in the end of the regular season, but we are in this situation because of ourselves and because of our inability to win on the road some games which we should have won. I hope to get the 6th place eventually, but if we don’t we will only have ourselves to blame. We have to do our part, win all four games and see what happens”.
Mr. Blatt also answered to a question about the prospect of staying in Aris next season, too: “I’m happy in Aris and I have said that since the day I came here. I wish I could have done better. There were good things in the beginning, but then injuries came and things went over the top. I’d like to see that change. The outcome of this season will not influence my decision for next year. I’m happy here and I’m hungry to succeed with Aris”.
