Up till now, Aris has played a total of 23 matches against Croatian clubs and has got a balance of 17 wins and 6 losses. Apart from Zadar, which they have faced 5 more times (3 wins - 2 losses), the “yellows” have also played against four more Croatian teams: The former European champions KK Split, against which they have 8 victories and 4 defeats in a total of 12 matches, plus Olimpija Osijek, KK Zagreb and Cibona Zagreb (2 victories in 2 games against each of them).
Worth mentioning is the fact that the five previous games between Aris Zadar have been held in five different arenas. Their first encounter was in season 1984-85, for the 2nd round of Korac Cup. Back then, Aris won 84-71 in Alexandrio Melathro (31/10/1984) and despite the defeat 94-89 suffered in the second leg, in Jazine Arena (07/11/1984), the Greek team qualified to the next round, reaching eventually the semifinals. In season 1993-94, the two clubs played against each other in the quarterfinal group stage of Cup Winners’ Cup. The “yellows” won by 98-95 (23/11/1993) in Nea Smyrni, Athens, where they played all their home matches during that year, due to the ban imposed to them for the incidents in the previous season’s final game. In Croatia, Zadar got the victory by 90-83 (11/01/1994), but couldn’t play at their home court either, due to the Yugoslav dissolution war. The match was held in Rijeka instead. This season, in the opening game of the Eurocup regular season, Aris was victorious by 68-73 at the Kresimir Cosic Hall, which was built in 2008.
Zadar, on the other hand, have had 41 games against 10 different Greek clubs, with a total of 20 victories and 21 defeats so far.
