Six games against Lukoil Academik, with a total 4 victories and 2 defeats, played Aris at the past. Aris is going to play this time against Lukoil Academik for the qualifying round of Eurocup. The first game will take place in Bulgaria on 29th of September and the second game will be in Thessaloniki on 6th of October.
The two rivals faced each other for the first time in season 2002-2003 in the quarterfinal round of FIBA Champions Cup. The Greek team won at the first game with 91-73 and although defeated in the second match 77-67 qualified for the final four. It was the year that Aris won its third European title winning in the final the Poland team, Prokom Trefl in Alexandrio Melathro.
In addition, Aris has played against Lukoil Academik in season 2004-2005 in the group stage of Uleb Cup. The “yellows” were victorious both in Bulgaria (91-75) and at their home court with the same score (91-75).
Also, Aris played against the Bulgarian team the season 2005-2006 in the group stage of Uleb Cup. The Greek Team won at Alexandrio Melathro with 97-91 but defeated in the second game (66-65).
