The key for Aris’s win over Alba Berlin (80-67) was the fact that the “yellows” had six long days to prepare for this game, David Blatt said on the aftermath of the victory. He also tried to explain this result by stating that basketball has a lot to do with mathematics.

The Press Conference:

David Blatt (Aris coach): “Although we won by 13, the game wasn’t that easy. Alba is a disciplined, well-coached team and difficult to play against. We insisted, we chipped up the ice, until we broke it! However, ourjob isn’t done yet. We have more games to win, in order to qualify and certainly that’s our goal. I was very confident before the game, because we had 6 days to prepare and that was very important for us.Basketballis a very mathematical game. The angles of the game, the stats and the formulas for winning, it’s all one plus one equals two. If you work hard, good things will happen. That’s how we got this good result for which we are happy”.

Luka Pavicevic (Alba Berlin coach): “We just weren’t ready enough to beat Aris here. We did some things good, but nearly not enough to get the victory. We couldn’t be as effective as we should on Kakiouzis, Walsh and Richardson. It takes a lot of concentration to make it and we missed this at some points. We missed some free throws and important rebounds, while Aris scored some big shots”.
